UPLOADit is a simple random gallery experiment which allows you to upload an image to the site (created by the boys at Stolen). PhoneBin is similar but the images being presented are submitted directly from mobile phones. Both project sites are totally uncencored which makes for some pretty nasty imagery being uploaded. Nice ideas though.

I love Ian Haig’s work, it kinda makes me feel uneasy, but warm and fuzzy at the same time, and I can’t quite pinpoint why. He works in a bunch of different mediums from sculpture to painting and there are a couple of little animations that are worth a gander on his site as well.

I found Annie’s site so informative. :) Its an awesome read. Annie Sprinkle is a self proclaimed “prostitute/porn star turned performance artist/sexologist”. Having passionately researched and explored sexuality for thirty years. She creates her own unique sex films, photographic work, and teaches workshops and college lectures.
There’s heaps of interesting stuff to check out on her site, well worth a browse.

Too cool for school. Each issue of Monster Children Magazine down in Australia explores the best of surf, skate, snow, art, photography, design. The image above was from a Calendar they produced using some damn fine ladies from Chic models and artwork from Jonathan Zawada. Be sure to grab one in their shop.

DesignKicks is an amazing creative community site created by German’s print and online magazine “Der Spiegel” with various interfaces on hand (you can even fly through photographs with their “Scape” feature). It doesn’t even matter that it’s not in English (it’s in German), the interface is intuitive and playful which makes it easy for anyone to view some great photography, illustration and design.

A little late but I just stumbled upon this lovely little calendar project which is a collaboration between 2 juxtaposing artists. One is the much respected graffiti artist Mode2 (If you own an old Graff book chances are it’s called ‘Spraycan Art’ published by Thames and Hudson featuring Mode2’s work on the cover), the other is Master Photographer Harri Peccinotti who’s famous for his work on the 1968 Pirelli Calendar. Anyways, check it out: The Calendar which is downloadable and operates on your desktop.

Ideafixa is yet another online “magazine” where contributions are made from talented photographers, artists, designers and illustrators from all over the world. What makes this magazine so cool is that their 1st issue is based on the theme of “sex”. Some great contributions have been made by some of the talent we’ve featured on Sex in Art so be sure to check it out.

LuvGalz is loosely set up to be a “tribute to femininity”. What’s cool about it is that it’s open to all Artists who want to participate. There are a few catergories open to contributions: Illustration, Photo, Video and Animation. The flash interface makes it a little annoying to browse through the submitted works but there’s definitely some cool pieces in there (submitted by a few Artists we’ve featured already) which makes it all worthwhile.

Lost At E Minor is a website and weekly email newsletter that sources out and features the best new illustration, photography, art and music from around the world.
It is the product of a collaboration between brothers Zac Zavos and Zolton Zavos who come from backgrounds in IT and magazine editing respectively and who wanted to work together on a project which tapped into their unique skill base and interest in various mediums of creative expression.
A MUST subscribe (hey it’s free!), it’s super nice to get their inspirational smack in the face directly in your inbox.

One for the authors and lovers of literature out there. “Pornographic writing doesn’t have to be bad writing. It can be funny, poetic, witty, passionate, powerful, insightful, suspenseful, and intelligent- all the qualities of traditional good writing.. The best can even be sublime, like the best of any art.”. Visit Explicit Literature.
