Found this amazing site off sugarcut: Montreal based performer and model Ella (aka Cicatrice), was severly burned as a child on approximately one third of her skin’s surface. The resulting scarring is still markedly visible, yet bizarrely beautiful in the collection of artistic nudes, shot by various photographers exhibited on her site - cicatrix.net. Be sure to check out the detailed story of her accident which is an affecting and fascinating read.
Dr Sketchy’s Anti Art School is Molly Crabapple’s burlesque life drawing class (yes we’ve plugged Molly before) which is right up our alley! Lots of luscious photos of pastie-clad girls. Plus, Molly now has a book out, chock full of burlesque paper dolls and dirty jokes.
LA based Lisa Boyle is a model perhaps best known for her appearances in Playboy magazine and its various Special Editions. She is nowadays a professional photographer, shooting content for her own website, as well as freelance work for various publications. (via).
Too cool for school. Each issue of Monster Children Magazine down in Australia explores the best of surf, skate, snow, art, photography, design. The image above was from a Calendar they produced using some damn fine ladies from Chic models and artwork from Jonathan Zawada. Be sure to grab one in their shop.
“The Number One Transexual in the World” Miss Amanda Lepore arrived in the late 1980’s, a recent David LaChapelle designed Swatch bearing her image was an immediate sell-out and she also has a perfume line. After many years at the Patricia Field makeup counter on 8th Street, she now works more than fulltime as a living Work Of Art. Way too far? We’ll leave it to you to decide! (via).
Muse is an art nude model who runs her own web site (it’s a paysite but there are a fair few free galleries on there). Whilst Sex in Art doesn’t primarily focus on art nudes, it’s the written introduction on Muse’s homepage that has us cheering:
“Those narrow-minded enough to believe that nudity in its purest form should be hidden from minors; do not possess the capabilities to discern between artistic expression and crass exploitation, nor do they understand the innocent eyes through which children see. We are not born with a irrational fear of the nude body, it is something that has been wrongfully ingrained into us by society.”
Some very strong words, we love her already!
Deliciae Vitae is an international magazine that aims to be classy, luxurious and sexy but fundamentally not about porn. We’ve got a couple off issues here and they feature erotic and glamorous photographic works from world-famous fashion photographers such as Ellen Von Unworth, Bettina Rhemis and Lee Jenkins just to name a few.
Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott are a dynamic London based photography duo who are way too cool for skool. They don’t seem to have an official site but are represented by Art Partner and have a small gallery of work here. I’ve also found a recent shoot they did of model Karen Elson.
We’ve plugged them before, but hadn’t noticed how amazing the design of the SuicideGirls site is. Check it out, love the grunge, every section of the site is themed so well and their news feed is awesome.
Some big impact pin-up work from American Artist and model Jessica Dougherty.
Wow, how kinky is this? Russian contortionist Zlata in some sexy high resolution pictures. Click here for the gallery. (via).
Goth and Gorgeous. Aprella, NYC Fetish and glamour model, with her long green locks and mysterious eyes. Check her out.
Master Photographer Peter Lindbergh has been described as a “poet of glamour” publishing fashion related work since 1978.
He’s released many books and is perhaps most known for his earlier work with the elite group of supermodels (Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz, Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford). If you’re quick you can check out a compilation of high res images which we found in this gallery, more here too, otherwise check out his official site for more biographical information.
“The Babe: It doesn’t matter what she looks like. All women are worth photographing partly or fully naked and it’s just a matter of concentrating on her best qualities. If she’ll willing, do it… just like sex!
The Camera: I’m starting with the assumption that you are shooting with a digital camera. (Nikon just announced it’s discontinuing their film cameras). A photo is a photo…and the digital image is now.”
Michael C Gross is an award winning art director, as well a free lance designer (and all round nice guy!). He’s also into art and taking photography. Of special note is his fantastical guide to photographing naked babes. A must read if you’re into (or thinking about!) taking nude photos, it sure helped me out a lot (w00t! Thanks Mikey!).
Mike also runs MikeyandMandy where he gets to showcase his nude photography, he also has a great blog and Mandy has one too.
