Beautiful images by UK based photographer Miss Aniela who’s is into the self-portrait; she creates artistic and non mainstream images using digital manipulation (she loves to clone herself!) and a hint of Nabokovian magic. Check out her site, her blog and her Flickr site too.
The lovely Kahlo of Dadanoias fame has updated her Flickr site with more great themed sets.
Only known as DrJoanne. She says: “I can’t paint, I can’t draw - but I can capture”. That she surely can!
Fantastic happy snappy everyday photography of American based photographer Isaac White. Looks like he hangs out with a very tight group of funky cats, also check out his professional site.
Found a great Flickr set of photographs by Mark Velasquez (Also check out his portfolio site).
Known only as “Mystery cat” on Flickr, here’s a great big set of wonderful images, mostly interesting landscapes with a model in place, raw, great play on composition, sexy and alluring.
Allure+Desire. Found these nice photos on Flickr.
Janey likes drawing figures and works primarily with art markers. My initial impression was “hey these drawings are really cute” and the more I saw the more I liked. Great use of line and colour, love her colouring outside of the lines and patchwork style. Her figure studies are innocent but at the same time erotic. A lot of her work is based on imagery she’s found elsewhere, that’s probably why I love her self portraits best. She also writes a blog where you can buy some of her lovely work.
Stumbled upon this nice little Flickr set by Will Sterns. I’m starting to like Flickr (well, it’s more about the work that people put up on Flickr) a lot.
I stumbled upon this Flickr site of Cantik Fotos. He’s got some nice nude photography on there but what caught my eye was his Desolation Row set. A series of photos which capture a very interesting and futuristic looking abandoned housing project in Taiwan. PS: No offense to the photographer, or the model, but I have to say that my fave photos in the set are the ones which just feature the urban decay and amazing architecture.
“I’m 5′ and weight about 90 pounds, I have long brown hair and big brown eyes and I wear funny looking glasses. I have the kind of face that people feel like asking direction or the time from”.
It always amazes me when someone opens the doors to their lives online. Israel based Lily Dan does just that. Amazingly powerful, beautiful and sometimes disturbing photos and passages on her Flickr site (not to mention some fantastic art) and also a very honest blog. (via).
Some nice straight up, no fuss fashion shots by American based New Zealander Jason Wallis. View his work on his Flickr site, or his official site.
Sydney based Mike Walsh is a leading authority on digital media and works in Group Strategy at News Limited. He’s got many fingers in many pies and has an amazing CV. But of interest to Sex in Art is Modelux, Mike’s lifestyle brand for people who want to escape from their everyday lives.
They have organised some of Sydney’s coolest parties (be sure to watch the you tube videos in the “eye candy” section, damn why wasn’t I invited to that pool party!). From the Modelux manifesto:
“Sure - its all a bit hedonistic. But don’t forget. Our parents got to be kids in the sixties, drop out of university and addle their brains with chemicals and cosmic cults. We got the eighties, AIDS, Reagan and the cold war. So if you didn’t get it the first time round - now is the time for your second childhood.”
He also runs a Flickr feed where he features his photography of Sydney’s beautiful people.
“We like the mistakes that posting every day necessitates. Some of our worst photos are our favorites — some of your worst are also our favorites. We like pretty but we prefer dark. We like exposed but we prefer sure. We like fresh but we prefer dirty.”
Very beautiful photographs on Rose and Olive’s Flickr stream.
