The nude in art history tries to be an archive of sorts, whilst it’s not the best web site in terms of design (it’s a little slow and also annoyingly pops advertisements), there’s a fair few scans of decent resolution which makes it worth bookmarking for future reference.

Awkward Moment #2 is a great little installation by Frank Plant and Thomas Charveriat where a woman, in a moment of desperation has sought to find a semi-secluded place in which to relieve herself. Be sure to check the video, it’s great! I love watching the reactions of the people who are interacting with the piece.

Her work has been referred to as “outrageous quasi-pornographic sirens” “anatomically impossible bimbos.” Her painting style has been described as “trying hard to make a travesty of the medium” while others including many of the top critics of the day find her virtuosity unassailable. Beautiful!

His graphic influences extend from “trash” culture (vintage record covers, “pulp” illustrations, movie art, rock posters, underground comix) to great “high brow” painters and print artists throughout history.
