Just a little message to say thanks so much for the link backs and positive feedback we’ve received over the past few months. We’re doing this for the love and we love it that you all love what we love too! Sometimes we get our facts mixed up (our he’s and she’s for example!) so thanks to all who’ve taken the time to send us corrections. It’s summer time where we live, high time to play in the sun! We might be slowing down a tiny bit over the end of year break, but rest assured updates will always be daily!
xoxo

Stéphane Tartelin (a.k.a. “BOZ”) is a French graphics designer, illustrator, motion graphics and print designer (ie: all-rounder!). Loads and loads of talent, style plus. Love his illustration work, animation work too, in fact I love everything he does!

Dr Sketchy’s Anti Art School is Molly Crabapple’s burlesque life drawing class (yes we’ve plugged Molly before) which is right up our alley! Lots of luscious photos of pastie-clad girls. Plus, Molly now has a book out, chock full of burlesque paper dolls and dirty jokes.

Superstar photographer Juergen Teller is a German photographer who’s photographed celebrities and directed shoots for edgey magazines such as The Face and i-D. He’s regarded as one of the most influential of contemporary fashion photographers and like Terry, he is also notorious for using a simple point and shoot camera. Some of his work here.

The nude in art history tries to be an archive of sorts, whilst it’s not the best web site in terms of design (it’s a little slow and also annoyingly pops advertisements), there’s a fair few scans of decent resolution which makes it worth bookmarking for future reference.

Master painter Eric Fischl. I remember this image (it is very unforgettable!) from “Shock of the new“, an art book we had in art class at high school in the early 90′s. (via).

Awkward Moment #2 is a great little installation by Frank Plant and Thomas Charveriat where a woman, in a moment of desperation has sought to find a semi-secluded place in which to relieve herself. Be sure to check the video, it’s great! I love watching the reactions of the people who are interacting with the piece.

Lisa Yuskavage. Her work has been referred to as “outrageous quasi-pornographic sirens” “anatomically impossible bimbos.” Her painting style has been described as “trying hard to make a travesty of the medium” while others including many of the top critics of the day find her virtuosity unassailable. Beautiful!

Only known as DrJoanne. She says: “I can’t paint, I can’t draw – but I can capture”. That she surely can!

New York based Norman Shapiro’s blog profile reads: “I’m 77, one eyed, celebrating my 50th wedding anniversary. My wife is my best friend and my greatest fan. I almost went totally blind this year, survived the threat (a detached retina) and see as good or better with new Rx glasses. No diminishment of my artistic productivity. I’m reminded of my fragility every day. Life is still full of GOOD surprises too. No bliss, no boredom, no abyss.” Lovely! Also be sure to check out his book site.
