Marie Cailliau
Beautiful paintings by French artist Marie Cailliau. I’d love to buy a piece.

“Disneyland Memorial Orgy” Poster, 1967
One of the original Mad Magazine illustrators, Wally Wood published this poster in The Realist, an underground newsletter, in 1967. An inside source at Disney told Realist editor Paul Krassner that the company chose not to sue to avoid drawing attention to what could ultimately be a losing battle. Click here to view, or buy, the poster.
ICE CREAM FOR FREE is a Berlin based design studio which produces some damn nice work over a diverse range of mediums.
Fantastic work by Toronto based photographer Sammy Rawal. Surreal, experiemental, conceptual and edgey. (via).
Known only as “Mystery cat” on Flickr, here’s a great big set of wonderful images, mostly interesting landscapes with a model in place, raw, great play on composition, sexy and alluring.
Personal, intimate, reflective, sometimes very erotic work of Japanese photographer Yatsutani Taizo. You really get a sense of who he is, where he lives, his family, friends and what he loves. I got totally lost in his “days” section where he posts a photo/day.
Some nice work by French photographer Geoffroy de Boismenu. Shame that the navigation is so arty that you may just give up and shut the window before viewing all of his work (image above is an out take from his Mademoiselle 4 series in the editorial section).
Some freaky digital photo-manipulation in the work of German photographer Corinna Holthusen. (via).
The strangely engaging work of Japanese photographer Takaci Hirano. (via).
Australian born Deanne Cheuk is an amazing creative who’s made more than a few marks in her career. She was labeled one of the top 50 creatives in the world by The Face magazine, one of 34 ‘Young Guns’ under the age of 30 by The Art Directors Club NY, one of ‘20 under 30′ by Print Magazine, ‘Most Influential Designer’ by Yen Magazine, and one of ‘The best people of 2004′ by Time Magazine.
She is one of three partners in the obsession themed clothing brand Liness. She has art directed and designed 13 magazines including her self published Neomu, Big, and Tokion. 2005 saw the release of her first book called Mushroom Girls Virus.
Much loved and respected by the creative community at large, Kozyndan is the joint pseudonym of uber talented Los Angeles-based husband-and-wife illustator team Kozue and Dan Kitchens, known in particular for their whimsical and occasionally absurd illustrations. I’m so happy to have a few of their prints, ready to be framed, and hey, they also have a great blog.
“The Number One Transexual in the World” Miss Amanda Lepore arrived in the late 1980’s, a recent David LaChapelle designed Swatch bearing her image was an immediate sell-out and she also has a perfume line. After many years at the Patricia Field makeup counter on 8th Street, she now works more than fulltime as a living Work Of Art. Way too far? We’ll leave it to you to decide! (via).
Jeff Koons is an American contemporary artist and sculptor. He’s noted for his use of kitsch imagery, sometimes in sculptural form and extremely large in size (perhaps you’ve seen his massive puppy in your home town) but I remember him most for his pornographic imagery of his ex-wife, Hungarian-born naturalized-Italian porn star Ilona Staller (better known as Cicciolina). His Made in Heaven series of paintings, photos and sculptures portrayed the couple in explicit sexual positions and created even more controversy than he had before. His official site is under construction but you can view a selection of his work here.
Dynamic work by Czech photographer Michal Macku who uses a unique technique called “gellage“.
Fantastic fashion Photography by New York based photographer Patrick Demarchelier. It’s a shame his site’s a little frustrating to navigate.
