Very beautiful and sexy work by Fette, a French artist who runs “the filth“, a visual studio based in Venice, California (she also runs an amazing art blog which does a great job in reporting on the LA art scene).
I love the illustration work of all-round creative Jason Levesque, aka stuntkid. Super nice, it’s great to see him gaining momentum and exposure out there (be sure to also check out his cool face designer on his myspace site).
Beautiful, expressive and dynamic drawings, paintings and sculptures by Polish artist Marzena Kawalerowicz.
Created with an ordinary ball point pen, check out the super cute scary sexy cool work of Michiko Kimura.
Her alluring narratives seemingly capture a private moment of sexual awareness and self-consciousness. Placed precariously between desire and detachment, New York based Amanda Besl’s paintings are provocative portraits of coquettish young girls.
Wei Dong’s a contemporary Chinese artist working with traditional Chinese techniques with ink and colour on paper. Traditional Ming landscapes meet Cultural Revolution = tense and totally edgey work. Click here to check out some of his work (with links to more).
New York based Lance Sells’ sketchbook work is abstract, minimalistic, human forms… it’s refreshingly unique! You get the impression that the more you view his work the more you might understand them but it’s not always the case! See for yourself on his far from normal site: Normal Natural.
Juxtapoz Art & Culture Magazine is a magazine created by painter Robert Williams (the artist famous for the Guns n’ Roses, Appetite for Destruction Robot Rape scene sleeve artwork) to celebrate the genius of low brow art.
The magazine itself is available in all good newsagents all over the world, their web site features news (hey thanks for the plug guys, we appreciate it!), low brow art related events and perhaps the coolest section “Reader Art Gallery” where they feature great art submitted by artists from all over the word.
Every now and then you stumble upon something great and I happened to stumble across the amazing work of French Image Maker, Photographer and Director Seb Janiak. His work is hot. Conceptually brilliant and super stylish. The web site in itself is awesome too.
New York based illustrator Sam Weber. Fact: I’ve got this forlder on my desktop, it’s called “cool shiat”. I basically save all the fucking cool images I come across on the web into this folder and Sam’s work was some of the first to live in my little cool shiat folder.
Beautiful artwork by Ian Patrick. Borrowing from the shunga/erotic prints of 18th century Japan and the costumes, props and puppets of old-time, fur, flesh and fabric, the tangle of limbs and torsos, the result is comic and sexy!
*gigglz* Naughty drawings by Geneva based artist Marc Bauer.
Japanese photographer Tetsu Tominari was originally an aspiring musician, now he focuses on taking sexy photos of beautiful Japanese girls. His motto reads: “photo’n'roll, be real and keep taking photographs”. Nice.
Super cool retro gigposter style illustrations by Zeloot (great use of colour and amazing typography). He also has a blog.
“My photographs use fantasy to trim away the fat of reality”
Margot Quan Knight is perhaps most well known for some of her hardcore imagery in Fabrica (her meat sneakers image will perhaps never leave my subconscious!). Be sure to check out all of her galleries on her site, of particular note, the beautiful “taking care” series, the bizzare “a girl’s best friend” series (where a girl hangs out with a massive pet worm) and also the amazing “Fabrica” series (ew… meat sneakers watch out!!!). Faesthetic’s 5th anniversary issue is 174 pages of original black & white art, photography, graffiti and design submitted by the creative elite. There’s only 1,000 copies available and it’s only printed once a year so be quick to grab one before you miss out.
Shigeki Hayashi is an amazing Japanese Artist who works in ceramics. The works, at a glance, are so flawless that it may seem like they were made of plastics or PVC. The future, fetish, bionic, manga like themes are right up my alley. (via).
Ben Frost is an Australian-born visual and performing artist whose highly charged work challenges contemporary norms and values of Western culture and society. Frost’s visual work places common iconic images from advertising, entertainment, and politics into startling juxtapositions that are often both confrontational and controversial.
Fantastic work by Singaporean artist Su-en Wong. Her work is primarily about her complicated existence as an Asian woman in Western culture. On initial impressions her work seems colourful and sweet but closer examination reveals a mood of political discontent.
In her exciting paintings, Wong utilises her favorite subject, herself, to visually critique, satirise, subjugate, and exploit stereotypes of Asian women as passive, pre-pubescent, and sexually objectified. Her paintings consist of multiple, nearly identical versions of herself, mostly naked, against monochrome candy colored backgrounds.
