Gum Blondes
Jason Kronenwold is a Canadian artist who specialises in stylised portraits of iconic beautiful women, made entirely of Bubblegum. He refers to his works, as Gum Blondes, and his first, which was entitled “Gum Blonde 1″ was completed in 1996.
Each Gum Blonde is 100% chewed bubblegum on a plywood backing. The colour is inherent to the gum – and the mixing of colour takes place inside the mouth. Kronenwald has a dedicated team of chewers and does not chew gum himself unless he must.
